Just a quick update 11 October

Hi Guys,

Just a quick update that I haven’t disappeared! I have moved houses and it took some time to get my broadband connection, but I’m up and running again so i will continue sending you updates from now on.

Today I’m flying out to Hungary to do a guest spot at the NAC Universe qualifier. I really look forward to this event as the hungarian athletes are very good, it will be nice to meet them in life. Also at least I will see some familiar faces in Germany at the Universe as I will know who qualifies and who is coming 🙂

I will take pictures and will upload them once I’m back next week!

Vlog 2

This second Vlog covers the first 2 weeks of my contest preparation, how I feel, the obstacles and just generally how it is going. Hope you’ll enjoy it, it’s a bit longer than the first one.

First Vlog!

I thought I might do something new and hopefully you’ll like it! Instead of writing up my blogs I’ve started recording them. Here’s the first one from the 12th August, last day of my offseason. Let me know what you think and enjoy!

Last weekend…

…of off season! Wow, feeling very excited about the new prep! It feels even better to prep with a lot of other people who are dieting for the UKBFF finals. Maybe less food pictures on Facebook? 🙂

I’ve had a few weeks of very good training sessions, heavy sessions and hopefully i’ve managed to put on as much size as possible during this short off season. I really can’t wait to see the new package i’m gonna present on stage in 12 weeks’ time!

This weekend is about getting my head straight again, meeting up with friends and having some good time, a laugh and some nice meals.

Have a great weekend everyone, check back next week when I will start my prep journal on here!

Still off season

I haven’t had much time recently to update this blog and so many things have happened in the last few weeks.

Enjoying offseason and the heavy trainings that come with it. Finally my strength is back and it feels so good! 🙂

Once I get a little bit more time I will start a training journal on here as well. I want to record my trainings, weights and reps, some pictures or videos as well. At the moment 24 hours a day don’t seem to be enough for everything: training and work, so i’m playing catch up on the weekends with some other errands.

Yesterday I was having fun with my camera and my friend’s car and bike. The results? See it for yourself 🙂

Back to prep mode

4 weeks after the world championships I decided to take a few days off to give some rest to my body. I had a strong rebound, I was gradually getting my strength back, too. It was a great time, a good experience and hopefully a fruitful one, too.

Had a few treats last week as well, went for a few steaks and had some sweets, but it’s time to get back to ‘normal’ and get ready for the last 2 competitions of 2012.

At Tony Roma’s in Kingston

It is very nice to get back to heavy training. I had a few very good sessions in the last 2 weeks.

And now back on track once again, the last big push for 2012. I had  a good rest for a few days last week, stopped training and cv and caught up with my sleep. This morning when I woke up I felt ready for the next few months of prep again. I look forward to the training sessions and to seeing my physique at the end of the prep.

I will share my nutrition with you throughout my whole prep as well as my training routine with some pictures and hopefully videos as well.

Have a great week everyone!

xx

Great weekend and celebration

of my winning! Thank you for all the guys, friends and training partners who made the effort to come and celebrate with me on Saturday! I had a great time and a laugh with you guys, wish we could do it more often 🙂

Celebration at Twickenham Beefeater

After 2 weeks of rebound I’ve put on a stone: I was 67 kg on stage in Russia and now I’m 74 kg. I will have to keep my physique lean for this short off season so that I can be even tighter for the Universe in November…

Last week was a long week with some great training sessions. I could go heavier and heavier, although my strength is not back to ‘normal’ yet. I guess it will take another 2-3 weeks.

I’m planning on taking a few days off the gym end of next week and maybe even go away for a few days just to recharge, so that when I’m back i’ll be full of energy and passion again to start my prep. Any suggestions where to go? Either in the UK or just a short trip to Europe maybe?

Have a great week everyone!

Offseason

Has officially started! Finally I can eat a bit more food, and more varieties as well. I can get back to my frozen protein (ice cream) before bed and my grilled burgers 🙂 I still keep it clean offseason because I only have 3 months to put on as much lean muscle as possible before we start cutting for the NAC British Finals and the NAC Universe. 3 months to maximise my training – I like that challenge!

It’s been a week now and finally my body is almost settled again, water is almost gone now and I got my veins back, too. Training is still not as heavy as it used to be offseason; I need another few weeks to catch up with my strength.

Let’s see what happened in the past week:

Came back on Monday evening and didn’t get a lot of rest, I was back in the gym Tuesday morning training shoulders. It feels good to train with a bit more carbs in me and having a bit more energy while training, although my strength is still not back to ‘normal’. I guess it will take another 2-3 weeks to see some increase in the weights I lift. I don’t want to push it too much because I don’t want to get injured. Once my strength is back I can start going heavy again, then I will enjoy training 200% again!

On Thursday I visited the big man himself. I haven’t seen him since the competition in Russia and I wanted to thank him for his continuous support, encouragement and help that he’s been giving me since we started working together. He always believed in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself. I wish there were more people around me like him! But let me tell you something: he is one of a kind!

I had a great night out with my friend Rob aka Chiseled Ice, who’s been behind me 100% during my prep. He even baked a winning protein cake for me – and it was so yummie!!! We went for a steak at the Beefeater, had a lovely meal and a great time! I look forward to competing with him again at the NAC British Finals in Manchester!

Generally when I’m prepping I train on my own, especially during the last few weeks because I just want to get in, do my thing and leave, but offseason I like training with other people. Yesterday I had a great leg session with Sam Stone and he nearly killed my legs! No wonder he’s got such a great pair of them!

From now on I will have more training pictures and videos uploaded on here. I’m thinking about doing a whole video series on my prep for the Universe, but i’ll update you on that a bit later. I need someone who can do the videos for me on a regular basis.

Anyway, that’s all for today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and don’t forget to check back soon!

Back in London

So here I am, back in London. Home sweet home!

Had a real pig out yesterday. Went to pizza hut and had a hot cookie dough, but I must admit it was a huge disappointment! Well, at least I know what it is now and it won’t bug me during my next prep 🙂

Had some Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, sweets and sweets… but today I had my first proper breakfast again: oats and protein waffles with honey on the top. I must admit I really missed it. It’s nice to be back on normal food. I will make sure I utilise all the extra carbs from the last 2 days in the gym! Need to grow! I have already started: on Sunday I went back to the gym in Kazan and had a great back workout! I just love that gym, so well equipped!

So now that I’m ‘officially’ off season I really need to make some improvements in the next 3 months, before I start the diet for the British Finals and the Universe.

I am thinking about recording my preparations for the next competition, some workouts, some nutrition, what I do and how I do it – and put it on my website. Would you like to follow it? Tell me what you would like to see or hear.

I’m off to the gym now but I will be back with more later!

At Moscow airport having a treat or two 🙂
